Policies

Wholesale and export orders placed with AFAM International are confirmed upon mutual agreement of product specifications, quantity, pricing, and shipping terms. All wholesale products supplied under AFAM are processed, packed, and dispatched from Ethiopia through AMG Coffee’s certified facilities under direct dealership authorization.

Wholesale order cancellations are accepted only before production scheduling or logistics allocation. Once processing, packing, or export documentation has commenced, cancellations are not permitted due to supply chain commitments and international shipping arrangements.

Refunds for wholesale and export coffee orders are considered only in the event of verified company-side quality defects, documentation errors, or shipment discrepancies. No refunds are issued for buyer preference changes, market conditions, or transit delays beyond carrier control. Where applicable, refunds are processed via bank transfer within a maximum of 10 working days following claim approval.

Processing & Export Infrastructure

All Arsi coffee supplied through AFAM International DMCC is sourced and exported by AMG Coffee Ethiopia, which operates integrated washing stations, cleaning facilities, and export handling infrastructure within Ethiopia. AMG Coffee Ethiopia sources Arsi coffee directly from smallholder farmers, cooperatives, and regulated supply channels, including the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX). Quality control, grading, and preparation for export are conducted at dedicated facilities in Addis Ababa, with additional agricultural processing operations maintained in Adama, approximately 100 km from the capital. With an annual export handling capacity of up to 28,800 metric tons, the supply chain supports bulk consistency, contract stability, and long-term international wholesale partnerships.

About the Arsi Origin & Coffee Characteristics

The Arsi region is located in southeastern Ethiopia along the eastern highlands and plateaus bordering the Great Rift Valley. The area is characterized by high elevations, cooler temperatures, well-drained soils, and seasonal rainfall patterns that promote slower cherry development and increased bean density. Coffee cultivation in Arsi is primarily smallholder-based, with farms spread across elevated terrain where altitude and climate encourage clean flavour expression and structural clarity. Compared to forest-grown regions, Arsi coffees tend to emphasize precision and balance rather than heavy body or intense fruit. Arsi coffee commonly exhibits clean acidity, gentle citrus brightness, soft floral tones, and restrained sweetness. The cup profile favors clarity and definition, making it particularly suitable for light to medium roasts, filter brewing, and espresso programs that prioritize clean extraction and flavour separation.
