Policies

Wholesale and export orders placed with AFAM International are confirmed upon mutual agreement of product specifications, quantity, pricing, and shipping terms. All wholesale products supplied under AFAM are processed, packed, and dispatched from Ethiopia through AMG Coffee’s certified facilities under direct dealership authorization.

Wholesale order cancellations are accepted only before production scheduling or logistics allocation. Once processing, packing, or export documentation has commenced, cancellations are not permitted due to supply chain commitments and international shipping arrangements.

Refunds for wholesale and export coffee orders are considered only in the event of verified company-side quality defects, documentation errors, or shipment discrepancies. No refunds are issued for buyer preference changes, market conditions, or transit delays beyond carrier control. Where applicable, refunds are processed via bank transfer within a maximum of 10 working days following claim approval.

Processing & Export Infrastructure

All Yirgacheffe coffee supplied through AFAM International DMCC is sourced and exported by AMG Coffee Ethiopia, which operates origin-linked washing stations, export-grade dry mills, and quality calibration systems within Ethiopia. Coffee sourcing is managed through structured smallholder networks and cooperative washing stations across the Yirgacheffe corridor, with ECX-registered channels used where applicable. Wet fermentation, washing, and drying are executed at origin-level stations under controlled conditions. Final density sorting, moisture stabilization, and export preparation are completed at dedicated facilities in Addis Ababa, supported by agricultural processing infrastructure in Adama, approximately 100 km from the capital. The export system supports annual handling capacity of up to 28,800 metric tons, enabling separation of lots, repeatability of profiles, and reliable contract execution for wholesale buyers.

Yirgacheffe Origin – Microclimate, Processing & Cup Behaviour

Yirgacheffe is located in southern Ethiopia within a tightly defined highland zone characterized by high elevation (often above 1,800 meters), cool daytime temperatures, and consistent rainfall patterns. These conditions slow cherry maturation, resulting in dense beans with high aromatic potential. Unlike broader production regions, Yirgacheffe is defined by micro-lot farming and centralized wet-processing, where cherries from smallholder farms are delivered to washing stations within hours of harvest. This system prioritizes cleanliness, fermentation control, and flavour separation rather than yield volume. In the cup, Yirgacheffe coffee exhibits high-definition acidity, white-floral aromatics, layered citrus brightness, and a light, structured body. The profile emphasizes clarity, lift, and finish precision rather than sweetness weight or mouthfeel density. These attributes make Yirgacheffe a reference origin for evaluating roast control and brew technique.
