Policies

Wholesale and export orders placed with AFAM International are confirmed upon mutual agreement of product specifications, quantity, pricing, and shipping terms. All wholesale products supplied under AFAM are processed, packed, and dispatched from Ethiopia through AMG Coffee’s certified facilities under direct dealership authorization.

Wholesale order cancellations are accepted only before production scheduling or logistics allocation. Once processing, packing, or export documentation has commenced, cancellations are not permitted due to supply chain commitments and international shipping arrangements.

Refunds for wholesale and export coffee orders are considered only in the event of verified company-side quality defects, documentation errors, or shipment discrepancies. No refunds are issued for buyer preference changes, market conditions, or transit delays beyond carrier control. Where applicable, refunds are processed via bank transfer within a maximum of 10 working days following claim approval.

Processing & Export Infrastructure

All Limu coffee supplied through AFAM International DMCC is sourced and exported by AMG Coffee Ethiopia, which operates coordinated washing stations, dry mills, grading facilities, and export preparation systems within Ethiopia. Coffee sourcing is managed through organized smallholder networks and cooperative washing stations across the Limu–western Jimma belt, supported by ECX-registered supply channels where applicable. Primary wet processing and fermentation control are performed close to origin, followed by final moisture stabilization, density sorting, and export calibration at dedicated facilities in Addis Ababa. Supporting agricultural processing infrastructure is maintained in Adama, approximately 100 km from the capital. The export system supports annual handling capacity of up to 28,800 metric tons, ensuring consistency of supply, lot repeatability, and contract reliability for wholesale buyers.

Limu Origin – Processing Tradition & Coffee Behaviour

Limu is located in western Ethiopia and is historically associated with washed coffee production rather than dry processing. The region experiences regular rainfall, moderate temperatures, and fertile soils that support controlled fermentation and clean post-harvest handling. Coffee cultivation in Limu is primarily smallholder-based, with cherries delivered to centralized washing stations soon after harvest. This system prioritizes cleanliness, defect reduction, and flavour stability over experimental processing or extreme sensory expression. In the cup, Limu coffee typically presents soft citrus brightness, refined sweetness, light spice or herbal undertones, and a smooth, medium body. Acidity is present but restrained, creating a profile that feels polished and balanced rather than sharp or heavy.
