Policies

Wholesale and export orders placed with AFAM International are confirmed upon mutual agreement of product specifications, quantity, pricing, and shipping terms. All wholesale products supplied under AFAM are processed, packed, and dispatched from Ethiopia through AMG Coffee’s certified facilities under direct dealership authorization.

Wholesale order cancellations are accepted only before production scheduling or logistics allocation. Once processing, packing, or export documentation has commenced, cancellations are not permitted due to supply chain commitments and international shipping arrangements.

Refunds for wholesale and export coffee orders are considered only in the event of verified company-side quality defects, documentation errors, or shipment discrepancies. No refunds are issued for buyer preference changes, market conditions, or transit delays beyond carrier control. Where applicable, refunds are processed via bank transfer within a maximum of 10 working days following claim approval.

Processing & Export Infrastructure

All Kaffa coffee supplied through AFAM International DMCC is sourced and exported by AMG Coffee Ethiopia, which operates its own washing stations and export-grade processing facilities within Ethiopia. AMG Coffee Ethiopia sources coffee directly from smallholder farmers, cooperatives, and registered suppliers, including the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX). Cleaning, grading, and quality control are carried out at dedicated coffee processing facilities in Addis Ababa, while additional pulse and cereal cleaning operations are maintained in Adama, approximately 100 km from the capital city. The export operation maintains a capacity of up to 28,800 metric tons per annum, enabling stable supply, contract reliability, and consistent quality for long-term wholesale and international buyers.

About the Kaffa Origin & Coffee Beans

The Kaffa region lies in southwestern Ethiopia and is characterized by dense forest cover, high annual rainfall, fertile soils, and natural shade conditions. These environmental factors allow coffee cherries to mature slowly, resulting in denser beans and improved flavour development. Coffee cultivation in Kaffa is predominantly forest-grown and semi-forest based, managed by smallholder farmers using traditional farming practices. This method supports biodiversity while producing coffees with rounded body, low sharpness, and stable cup performance. Kaffa coffee typically expresses herbal depth, soft cocoa undertones, mild spice notes, and subtle fruit sweetness. Its balanced structure makes it especially suitable for espresso, moka pot, French press, and traditional brewing styles where richness and mouthfeel are prioritised over bright acidity.
